Alfred State College, School of Applied Technology, Electrical Trades Department, has an opening for an Instructional Support Assistant (ISA) at our Northland Workforce Training Center, Buffalo NY.

The job responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Instruct and supervise students in safe and proper use of equipment/tools in lab and in field project with proper procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations. A wide range of knowledge and background in Welding and Welding Practices is required. Although not required, experience in Machine Tool (CNC) would be helpful. The Candidate should be able Analyze diagrams, parts lists, and be familiar with blueprint reading the ability to verbally quiz students on theory and troubleshooting skills. Be able to provide coverage in all department laboratories and classrooms. Supervision including grading student labs, manage field projects for safety, work habits, proper tool usage. Work with a variety of vendors to compare prices, order new equipment. Be able to fill out purchase orders, and inventory department supplies and materials. Troubleshoot and repair department equipment. Perform department tours for prospective students and their families. Ability to change directions during the workday with little or no notice. This Position is full time, 10 months per year (June and July off).

This position is an on-campus face to face position.

Job Requirements:

Preference will be given to candidates with 5 years of field Experience in Electrical Trades, Welding or Machine Tool fields.

Experience with Microsoft Office, Auto Cad, Master Cam, and basic computer skills are preferred.
