Overview
Direct and oversee all phases of Turnaround Coordination to ensure the safe, environmentally friendly and cost-effective production of quality products to serve our customers. Manage/supervise a team of salaried employees.
Responsibilities
Supervise subordinates, resolve employee problems and oversee all facets of TA coordination and execution. Consult with Human Resources as appropriate.
Oversee and ensure development, implementation and monitoring of a comprehensive safety program in assigned area. Foster a culture of safety for our STO’s.
Coordinate maintenance work plans according to the maintenance schedule where fixed equipment inspections are concerned. Handling schedule breakers and emergency work by prioritizing and efficiently changing course to meet customer needs.
Coordinate planning and scheduling of Minor Capital Projects. This will involve working with our ACE project coordinator to ensure timely completion of project work during STO’s and normal time.
Provide guidance, direction to the maintenance staff on technical issues. Provide options and alternatives to resolve problems based on technical research (equipment files, work order history, etc.). Complete initial piping design work/sketches and oversee implementation of resolution.
Conceive, develop, and implement ongoing cost containment/improvement initiatives including:
General expense control and reduction
Employee overtime reduction and productivity improvement
Review of preventative and predictive maintenance techniques
Participate in the plant reliability program, routinely reviewing maintenance requests, backlogs, scheduling priorities and planning processes, etc. to minimize turnaround time and avoid unplanned outages
Qualifications
Technical Degree (Bachelor’s preferred)
3+ years experience in Maintenance Supervision/STO’s
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Demonstrates an in-depth working knowledge of process equipment operation and applications
Demonstrates an in-depth working knowledge of piping systems, schematics and engineering drawings
Demonstrates working knowledge of construction standards
Demonstrates knowledge of ASME, ANSI codes
Demonstrates understanding of the budgeting process in a plant maintenance environment
Demonstrates understanding of OSHA regulations and a basic knowledge of local and state regulations concerning plant operation and construction
Demonstrates basic understanding of electricity/electrical systems
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of labor laws
Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills
Demonstrates effective presentation, facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Able to manage multiple tasks concurrently
Able to visualize the “Big Picture” while focusing on details to complete tasks
Able to interact effectively with all levels of employees
Able to cope with multiple interruptions
Able to troubleshoot mechanical systems/equipment
Demonstrates computer literacy with regard to Afton’s routine applications (SAP, Microsoft Office, etc.) and is able to use appropriate software to solve problems
