The Production Team Lead is responsible for the day-to-day movement of work of their assigned area. This position directs the work & supports the team in collaboration with and direction from the Production Supervisor. Simultaneously this position acts as a knowledgeable production team member with direct and primary responsibility for training others in the manufacturing of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC), batteries and other supporting products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
Acts as a primary trainer, trains, coaches, and directs new and current team members on company products, processes, and procedures.
Conducts training in a manner that supports a healthy work culture including safety, environmental, teamwork and housekeeping.
Trains on, documents, recommends SOP updates and communicates changes.
Supports in the adjustment of labor based on departmental production requirements.
Trains on, gives input into, and communicates new equipment procedures and requirements.
Provides information that feeds into a variety of reports/communications including, non-conforming, inventory, kanbans and production boards and metrics.
Ensures team has tools, PPE, equipment, and tools to employees for job completion, escalates and needs or concerns to the Production Supervisor.
Assures correct materials and supplies are available and in place for assigned area of production at the start & throughout the shift
Assists & supports departmental meetings to communicate changes.
Monitors, audits, and reports job performance of team, works with supervisor to determine job readiness and developmental needs, assists with the accurate maintenance of the training matrix
Communicates and documents employees training and results
Carries out the assignment of daily work within assigned area, evaluates performance, facilitates teamwork, coaches, and guides employees. Provides positive reinforcement and builds relationships.
Meets all requirements of a Fuel Cell Operator II
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years working in a manufacturing or production environment.
2+ years of experience successfully training others in a related setting.
Ability to effectively train others with a wide variety of learning styles in a wide variety of tasks
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
Able to communicate effectively & professionally in both verbal and written formats
Demonstrated problem-solving skills around multiple variables that affect production
Proven quality and safety focus
