Job Description:

Zurich North America is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Claims Recovery Salvage Specialist to join our team in Overland Park, KS. Under close supervision, you will collaborate with claims and total loss professionals to assess potential total loss situations and drive high-quality outcomes. This role involves determining optimal methods for recovery and disposal across auto and property lines of business. Your responsibilities will include investigating and securing the highest return on salvage recoveries through effective negotiation and meticulous expense management.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Exercise discretion and independent judgment to obtain maximum, timely salvage recoveries by developing and executing a case strategy, gathering, and analyzing relevant facts, documenting claims file and escalating issues as appropriate.


• Manage the salvage process by collecting salvage payment, arranging transportation, removal and title processing.


• Negotiate settlement of salvage recovery by establishing appropriate negotiation strategy and utilizing available tools and resources within authority limits.


• Ensure customer service by proactively communicating information; responding to inquiries and following customer protocols with customers, brokers and third-party vehicle/property owners to facilitate salvage process.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Subrogation/Salvage area/ OR


• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the Subrogation/Salvage area/ AND


• Knowledge of auto physical damage, state title laws, and disposal methods.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with auto dealership/heavy truck and equipment


• Experience with auto and total loss claims


• Familiarity with title processing


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
