Job Description:

Community and Continuing Education at Santa Fe College is comprised of non-degree programs and workshops that focus on providing diverse development opportunities that meet the needs of the community in the Alachua and Bradford counties. With intentionally flexible programs that fit into a student's busy schedule, Community and Continuing Education offers industry certifications, career change or advancement opportunities, and business start-up and emerging technologies skills and knowledge.



Reporting to the Associate Vice President, the Director of Corporate and Community Education will provide leadership and strategic direction for corporate, continuing, and community education programs. This position is responsible for the planning, delivery, reporting, and evaluation of corporate, continuing, and community education training as well as conferencing and workshop activities. Additionally, the Director provides leadership for SF's Center for Innovation and Economic Development (CIED) and associated incubator and entrepreneur-related activities. As the individual responsible for the success of corporate and community education, the Director is expected and required to maintain strong relationships with the community, businesses, and industry partners.

Responsibilities and Duties


  • Provides leadership for and management of corporate and community education staff and staff engaging in student career development and placement, providing possible professional development opportunities for staff, and ensuring the success of the educational programs.

  • Guides all activities associated with SF's Center for Innovation and Economic Development (CIED) and the Incubator, including mentoring, and supporting incubating companies.

  • Leads and helps secure all current and future grants related to corporate continuing and community education programs as well as the CIED and Incubator.

  • Actively seeks funding opportunities to support the college's corporate continuing and community education efforts.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with community and industry partners in order to gain valuable information about workforce needs that can be utilized to better the educational programs.

  • Builds and maintains productive relationships with public, private, and non-profit employers to create pathways for future talent.

  • Oversees the development of responsive, customized workforce solutions for area businesses, industry partners, and regional economic development efforts, collaborating closely with academic department chairs to achieve appropriate programmatic alignment.

  • Leads the coordination efforts in the development, implementation, and reporting of corporate continuing and community education offerings.

  • Leads efforts to increase the number of business and industry partners participating in contract and/or customized trainings with the college.

  • Develops content for formal presentations and recruitment of partners and students for corporate continuing and community education programs.

  • Obtains labor market information and talent demand information, translating that data into meaningful information to create workforce development and continuing education strategies.

  • Continually researches new and innovative ways to market and promote corporate continuing and community education offerings.

  • Develops processes for assessing the college's corporate continuing and community education programs.

  • Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Associate Vice President, Academic Affairs (CTE)

Qualifications


Required:
A bachelor's degree in business, entrepreneurship, or a related field with at least four (4) years of related work experience in workforce development, continuing education, or community education and/or a combination of education and experience equal to eight (8) years.

Additional Requirements: Applicants must have a valid Florida driver license and be authorized to drive for the college. A criminal background check will be conducted.

Preferred:
MBA or other master's degree is preferred, but not required.
