The HR Generalist is responsible for providing day-to-day support for employees and the management team. This position will work closely with the leadership team to manage both strategic and administrative tasks in all areas of Human Resources.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and/or maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
Update and maintain internal databases to track HR metrics including turnover, leave of absence, attendance, training, and more.
Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing processes with labor regulations.
Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees.
Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program and writes and places advertisements.
Provide support to team members when human resources issues arise and answer questions regarding benefits and policies and procedures.
Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviews.
Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.
Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
Assist with coordinating team member and community events to create a culture around Audubon Metals core values.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Experience with payroll and benefits administration preferred but not required
Ability to work well under deadlines and respond to changes in priorities
Attention to detail and experience handling sensitive and confidential information
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently, take initiative and see projects through to completion
Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of employment laws and regulations
Intermediate to advanced computer literacy
Bilingual- Spanish fluency is a plus
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred or 3+ years progressive HR experience
PHR/ SHRM-CP Certification is preferred but not required
