This Sales & Use Tax Manager includes responsibility for the sales/use tax function of Ardagh Glass Packaging - North America's (AGP-NA) and Ardagh Metal Packaging USA Corp. This is a Shared Services function.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns, accruals, and payments
Organize check requests, monitor payments and accruals for sales and use tax, and explain budget variances
Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations and journal entries.
Manage exception status, exemption applications, refunds, and returns.
Manage all state reverse sales and use tax audits and jurisdiction audits.
Research and conclude on sales/use tax positions and tax savings opportunities.
Provide sales/use tax guidance and update tax guidelines to all stakeholders.
Communicate and work effectively with state officials, auditors, consultants, and internal financial and tax management
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field
Five (5) years of accounting and corporate sales/use tax experience
Three (3) years of experience in the manufacturing industry
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a team-based environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and interact effectively with management and outside customers
Must have exceptional problem solving analytical and technical skills with good team dynamics
Must possess strong planning and organizational skills
Willingness to undertake Canadian HST/GST/PST tax compliance required
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred skills / qualifications:
Previous experience in Canadian HST/GST
Previous experience in SAP and creating reports
Previous experience with Thomson Reuters Use Tax Software
