Job Title: Sr. Compliance Program Manager

Reports to: VP, Sustainability & Compliance

Location: Remote

The Role

Oversees Deckers' Global Compliance Program by ensuring adherence to laws, rules, and regulations, identifying, and recommending compliance initiatives, driving best practice, and building strong processes aligned with the organization's values and culture with strong focus on OSHA regulations, Wage and Hour and loss prevention while fostering a culture of compliance and accountability within the team and across the broader global organization.

Your Impact

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:


  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global compliance strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives and values with oversight of Deckers Vice President, Sustainability and Compliance.

  • Drive compliance with various global regulations, including but not limited to, OSHA health and safety regulations, wage and hour compliance, and loss prevention.

  • OSHA health and safety regulations: Serve as primary compliance point of contact and assist with federal, state, and agency wage and hour regulation compliance matters, including any related to labor code and OSHA. Liaise with staffing agencies to ensure consistency with timekeeping and policy practices. Identify changes to federal/state/local laws (e.g. labor code, OSHA) and effectively communicate the steps needed to respond to the change. Provide periodic training to employees/managers regarding HR policies related to labor code requirements, OSHA regulations, and wage and hour, including meal and rest breaks.

  • Wage and hour compliance: Act as subject matter expert advising on HR policies and practices relating to wage and hour, timekeeping, meal and rest periods, sick leave, etc. This includes the design, coordination and execution of wage and hour audits to identify potential areas of risk and developing solutions and action plans to mitigate such risks.

  • Loss prevention: Develop, implement, and maintain an effective loss prevention program to reduce exposure to theft and increase awareness. This includes the design and coordination of loss prevention audits to identify potential areas of risk and developing solutions and action plans to mitigate such risks.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams including, but not limited to, distribution center, internal audit, people and experience team, legal and compliance teams, and stakeholders across the organization to ensure concise, consistent communications closely aligned with Deckers values, culture, strategy, and Global Compliance Program.

  • Oversee Deckers' Code of Conduct and internal compliance policies and rules, including serving as the initial point of contact for questions regarding company policies, as well as developing regular awareness and compliance training in coordination with Legal, People and Experience, communications, Supply Chain, Retail Stores, and other partners as appropriate. This includes management of the organization's compliance and ethics mailbox.

  • Lead regular operational audits to ensure the compliance program is functioning appropriately and remediate gaps as appropriate to further mitigate compliance related risks.

Who You Are

Experience professional able to manage global projects, conflicting priorities, and deadlines.

Display excellent leadership, customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Effectively able to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives with a proven track record.

We'd love to hear from people with

+8 years of global compliance experience with international exposure, working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership. The candidate must have a deep understanding of international compliance, OSHA regulations, Wage and Hour and loss prevention.

Bachelor's Degree or higher, with OSHA or Compliance certification desirable.

Prior experience managing projects.

$120,000 - $135,000

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
