Summary of Responsibility:

The Training and Development Specialist is an entry-level, professional training and development role that is primarily responsible for crafting, implementing, and conducting training and development programs for various departments within the organization.

The ideal candidate will act as a business partner to support the organizations training initiatives but also assist with general administrative and coordination aspects of launching a training program.
What You Will Contribute:


  • Assesses training and development needs through formal and informal Needs Analysis Tools, including- surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, instructors, and customer representatives.

  • Develops unique training programs to fulfill workers specific needs to maintain or improve job skills; creates and/or acquires training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.

  • Partner with instructional development vendors to create and/or deliver content based on organizational needs.

  • Schedules the appropriate classroom and prepares the physical setup, including any audiovisual equipment; orders supplies, meals, etc. as required.

  • Presents/delivers training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, e-learning, virtual, and videos.

  • Recommends training content based on feedback from annual performance review process; oversees process to ensure embedded into training plans.

  • Evaluates training program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.

  • Plans and coordinates programs, seminars and conferences for employee development and training events.

  • Continually strives to gain expertise in CNC/machine tool industry in order to assist with and/or deliver basic product-related trainings.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Training and Development, or a related field required.

  • At least three (1) year of professional training experience required (i.e. content creation, needs analysis, and training delivery).

  • Knowledge of adult-learning principles.

  • Knowledge of current training modalities (virtual, e-learning, AI, etc.)

  • Strong business writing skills.

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.

  • High energy and engaging; enjoys working and interacting with people.

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

  • Proficiency with learning authoring tools (e.g. Lectora, iSpring, Captivate), highly preferred.
