Description: Our client is currently seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician
Scope of role:
Location: Brunswick, GA
Hours: Mon-Fri 4:00pm-12:00am
Summary: The Flow Cytometry Medical Lab technician will carry out a variety of low to high complexity laboratory tasks including all sample processing, triage and collate all patient history.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Carry out a variety of moderate to complex techniques including sample processing, pipetting, preparation of smears (BM, PB and FNA's) and subsequent staining
Independently perform all steps involved in specimen processing, panel pipetting and incubation/washing for flow cytometric evaluation
Perform viability stain and count to determine proper cell concentration of processed samples
Multi-task with minimal margin of error
Help maintain detailed patient records/files of all tests/patients for tracking and follow-up
Maintain good communication skills thru email and shift log with co-workers and management
Maintain a well-stocked, clean and safe lab environment Keep detailed equipment maintenance logs
Qualifications & Requirements:
Associate Degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or equivalent education and training preferred
Flow Cytometry experience required
MLT or MT ASCP certification or equivalent preferred
Knowledge of sterile techniques, pipetting and smear preparation required
Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, twist and lift approximately 35 pounds
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Must be an organized, detail-oriented team player Excellent written and verbal communication skills
