PPG Aerospace in Mojave, California, is seeking a local subject matter expert to fill the role of Coatings Laboratory Training Coordinator. In this position, you will report directly to the Coatings Laboratory Manager. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about training our internal laboratory technicians on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and specification test methods. The ideal candidate will be positively engaging, capable of teaching, training, and mentoring our Coatings Lab Technicians to ensure they adhere to our quality standards and excel in their roles. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate training sessions for all shifts and assist employees with missed sessions to ensure departmental compliance promptly


• Conduct lab work, analyze test results, and comprehend factors affecting test outcomes


• Collaborate with chemists, technicians, and supervisors to perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent future discrepancies


• Work with Supervisor, Manager, and Quality Engineer to remedy training gaps


• Revise work instructions for test methods and standard procedures


• Run regular reports for EHS Safety & Process Safety compliance


• Ensure accessibility of test methods, specifications, and work instructions for all lab personnel


• Follow company protocols regarding controlled and proprietary information and adhere to all safety and health regulations set forth


• Participate in housekeeping activities to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment


• Provide backup assistance for team members whenever necessary

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of related work experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment or equivalent experience in a learning and development or training coordinator role


• Flexibility to work any shift as required to meet training needs


• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required


• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Salary Range: $66,560 to $85,000 Depending on Experience
