About the Role

Essity North America Health and Medical Solutions is currently seeking a Production Manager who will provide leadership and direction in the manufacturing of wound care products while optimizing continuous production processes to achieve the output, quality, and cost goals of the organization. The ideal candidate should live in the Newark, Delaware area or is willing to commute.

What you will do


  • Manage the day-to-day operations at the Newark facility.


  • Facilitate the application of Global Manufacturing Excellence principles and tools (work instructions and procedures for safety, quality, CIL maintenance, etc.).


  • Become a subject matter expert on production equipment and processes. Support validations of process improvements and capacity expansions;


  • Work closely with Quality / Regulatory to ensure the facility, documentation, products, and projects meet all quality and regulatory expectations.


  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving manufacturing efficiencies, personnel health and safety, environmental goals, and gross profit margins at the Newark facility.


  • Champion safety and quality while fostering a culture of accountability, care, and pride.


  • Monitor production metrics to respond to and resolves issues at the source.


  • Manage maintenance, turnarounds, and downtime for efficiency and speed.


  • Ensure safety of equipment and facilities and manage lock-out / tag-out system.


  • Oversee contractors and vendors completing work on properties, ensuring accuracy to specifications.


  • Support ongoing development of operators by providing clear performance expectations, specific feedback on behaviors and effective coaching and mentorship.


  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Who you are


  • 5+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or equivalent.


  • 10+ years of relevant experience with high school diploma or equivalent.


  • Medical device and chemical processing experience preferred.


  • 3+ years of experience in a supervising an hourly workforce.


  • Experience working in a regulated industry such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485 preferred.


  • Strong organizational and management skills.


  • Detail oriented with proven ability to multi-task.


  • Excellent knowledge of MS office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
