Job Title: Director, Pricing

Job Summary:

This position leads a large and virtual team of Pricing Managers and Pricing Analysts in the development, implementation, and management of complex contractual pricing solutions. The incumbent provides subject matter expertise in the development of pricing and revenue management policies/procedures related to the TForce Freight services and products and is responsible for the implementation of those policies/procedures within the TForce Freight customer base. This role works directly with sales leadership, product groups, marketing teams, operations, and procurement in the development of complex pricing strategies involving special operating plans and multiple geographies to retain, win, and grow the business. This position is responsible for ensuring team members understand pricing strategies and are properly trained in the use of pricing models and revenue management tools. The incumbent ensures consistent, rational, market-based pricing decisions are made via adherence to pricing authority level discount guidelines. This role directly manages others within the department.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Provides direction and oversight to Pricing Managers in the creation and presentation of support materials.
  • Reviews and approves all pricing requests exceeding corporate revenue management guidelines.
  • Oversees the completion of ad hoc pricing analysis requests from upper management regarding the financial impact of both short-term/long-term pricing and revenue management strategies on the customer base.
  • Evaluates and supports staffing of pricing subject matter expertise requests in support of special projects and new product launches.
  • Reviews complex, customer change proposals to TForce Freights contractual language to decipher business and pricing implications.
  • Evaluates and recommends modifications to Specialized Pricing Language based on changing market and business conditions.
  • Coordinates cross-functional interaction with sales, legal, security, etc. regarding proposed contract language changes to address departmental impacts and develops consolidated company responses.
  • Collaborates with Corporate Legal department on significant contract language change proposals to seek approval and ascertain viable language modification alternatives.
  • Evaluates and recommends modifications to TForce Freight Incentive Program Agreements based on changing market and business conditions.
  • Identifies individual and team skill gaps/developmental opportunities to facilitate individual and team development.
  • Ensures that direct/indirect reports have specific, documented career goals and detailed plans for achieving these goals to advance the development of their personal and professional growth.
  • Conducts frequent performance evaluations.
  • Identifies opportunities to involve others in new and challenging work assignments.
  • Recommends employees for lateral rotations and promotions to provide them with opportunities to develop new skills and take on more responsibility.

Job Requirements:


  • U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Able to work remotely but travel as needed for the position
  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree)
  • Successfully managed a diverse and remote workforce
  • Flexible with work hours to accommodate the 4 US time zones as needed
  • Significant Microsoft Excel and data analytics experience
  • Pricing or significant revenue management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Marketing, Finance, Business, General or Engineering preferred
