The primary purpose of this role is to protect and enhance Kimberly-Clark's reputation through proactive and reactive communications and crisis/issues management and support our business by defining, developing and executing strategic public relations programs that promote corporate and brand narratives around our purpose of Better Care for a Better World.

In this role you will:


  • Act as a senior member of the External Communications team, the individual in this role is expected to handle serious and sensitive subjects with tact and excellent judgment.


  • Manage communications strategies for enterprise-wide issues, supporting our business units as needed working with cross-functional teams to mitigate reputational damage.


  • Manage Kimberly-Clark’s external website and social media presence.


  • Serve as one of the key contacts for media, working with high-profile publications and reporters on proactive story placement and effective management of inquiries to help position K-C favorably and accurately in media coverage.


  • Ensure the company’s messages are clear, relevant, consistent, credible and timely for all identified audiences; Drive alignment between corporate PR and brand PR strategies to create greater awareness of Kimberly-Clark, its brands, strategies, and senior leaders.


  • Manage the development of press releases, talking points, FAQs, position statements, videos, web content, speakers bureau, media pitches and other related materials.


  • Support communicators embedded in the business units and countries in dealing with external communications needs and opportunities.


  • Develop effective measurement criteria to evaluate communications programs and incorporate into earned media plans.


  • Manage, monitor, and develop strategies to proactively anticipate and mitigate potential issues and crises for the company globally.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree


  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, and/or PR agency experience


  • Experience building strategy-based communications plans that tie back to business objectives


  • Adept skills in writing drafts independently based on analysis of resource material, with clear and concise language; Comfortable directing and editing engaging video communications.


  • Experience managing incoming media inquiries with the external comms team, including sourcing information through the organization and building relationships with key media members.


  • Website management (including content development, content updates, website refreshes, and overall site user experience)


  • Familiar with a variety of communication channels and knows their key benefits and shortcomings.

Compensation at Kimberly-Clark varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience. This position has a base range between $170,000- $210,000 and also includes a yearly bonus potential.
