Job Description:

JOB BRIEF



The Barista Lead effectively plans, organizes, leads, coordinates and optimizes the materials and human resources to provide variety and high quality product to maximize sales and profits of the department while maintaining great customer service.



JOB DUTIES



  • Ensure the department achieves the standards of performance as outlined in the work and merchandising plan. Achieve and maintain department's merchandising goals and standards in cooperation with Store Director, Merchandisers and buyers.

  • Ability to conduct and facilitate department meetings. Conduct weekly sales meetings with associates to establish merchandising, sales and profit objectives.

  • Ensure all new department associates receive proper review and training of job descriptions, goals and objectives. Develop the best trained associates with company policy and procedures.

  • Ensure fair and consistent treatment in administering discipline to promote high associate morale.

  • Responsible for inventory, security, and expense control of the department.

  • Ensure company standards of safety, proper food handling, sanitation and productivity are achieved.

  • Resolve customer complaints to the full satisfaction of the customer.

  • Ensure that the department is merchandised in accordance with the needs to the community.

  • Order, receive, and unload store deliveries properly. Store, price, date, rotate, stock and prepare product for display and sale.

  • Effectively control proper storage limiting shrink and damaged goods.

  • Plan work schedules and breaks; achieve payroll consistently by scheduling within budget. Ensure all wage and hour regulations are adhered to.

  • Maintain accurate records and forward to accounting in a timely manner.

  • Offer product samples and make suggestions, answer product questions, and offer assistance in finding product.

  • Minimize all department expenses without compromising department conditions or customer service level.

  • Delegate and use initiative, ingenuity, and good judgement to act on opportunities and solve problems.

  • Guarantee outstanding product quality and presentation through cooperation with store manager and merchandisers.

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, and federal guidelines.

  • Being safety conscious and correcting any unsafe conditions. Ensure work area is swept clean, orderly and free from safety hazards. Report all hazards to management.

  • Exercise proper safety practices when lifting or moving product or using equipment.

  • Be able to operate and clean department equipment and tools.

Secondary Job Duties:


  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Present favorable impression in dress, personal hygiene and business attitude.

  • Other duties assigned by management.


QUALIFICATIONS



  • Prefer a minimum of High School diploma or GED equivalent, some college would be helpful.

  • Strong interpersonal/customer service skills.

  • Five years or more experience in retail or merchandising environment.

Physical Demands:


  • Occasionally-Carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling up to 150 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing up to 6 foot height, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.

  • Frequently- walking on tile/concrete, bending, balancing, and reaching waist/overhead level.

  • Continuously- Standing on tile/concrete, manual dexterity, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and smelling.

Safety Risk Factors:


  • Occasionally-Loud noise, slippery or cluttered floor surface, hazardous equipment (mechanical moving parts), contact with sharp objects, contact with skin irritants, nuisance dust, fumes, sprays, and hazardous cleaning solutions.

  • Frequently-Twisting of back and neck.

Other:


  • Varied, irregular schedules.

  • Working environment involves inside store location with controlled temperatures.
