Responsibilities

Summary
Responsible for the creation, development, and enhancement of manufacturing processes used in the production/machining of aerospace hydraulic actuators and their components. This role reports to Operations Manager. In this role, you will be required to interpret design drawings and specifications, develop production planning, and support manufacturing/machining processes. Specifically, you will work with machining of components and machining processes. In this position you will provide assistance to junior engineers and have moderate supervision from senior engineers or manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Develops written manufacturing planning, sketches, and other work instructions in accordance with appropriate drawings and specifications to support site production.
• Use of CAD systems to create fixturing, tooling, and manufacturing models to support creation and development of manufacturing/machining processes.
• Works closely with machinists, supervisors, and other functional teams to continually improving product flow and quality.
• Initiates, evaluates, and implements process improvements.
• Effectively utilize RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Actions) practices in improvements including defective parts.
• Evaluates and develops manufacturing processes by:
• designing and conducting research programs.
• applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
• conferring with equipment vendors.
• soliciting observations from operators.
• Assures product and processes are to quality requirements.
• Provides production support by answering questions and requests from the operations team.
• Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing objectives laid out through site-wide and department initiatives.
• Assist in release and development of technology and process improvements on the Machine Floor.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field plus 3 years of relatable experience; OR
• Associate's degree in an engineering field with 5 years of manufacturing engineering or machining experience.; OR
• 7 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in Aerospace, Automotive, or related industry relating to CNC operations.

Demonstrates Advanced Knowledge and Experience
• Practical machining concepts.
• Precision measuring tools, gauges, and other inspection devices.
• Part drawings/blueprints, dimensioning, and tolerancing.
• Including GD&T
• Aerospace industry specifications.
• Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste reduction concepts
• General knowledge of metallurgical properties including heat treating various types of metals.
• Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Applications. To be used in recording and communicating efforts and or statuses.
• Basic Project Management Best Practices

Other Qualifications

Position Pay Range: $69,400 - $104,200/Annually. Hiring range and position pay range may differ, commensurate with education, qualifications, and experience.
