Summary of Duties:


The Fiscal Analyst 1 works with the Senior Research Administrators in providing specialized fiscal support to the Allen School faculty and staff in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAPP) or other grant terms, conditions, or compliance requirements. The Fiscal Analyst 1 will also be responsible for assisting with general fiscal support to the Allen school as needed.


Responsible for collection and analysis of data used for various purposes such as grant and contract proposals and department financial projections. Review and research operating procedures; develop solutions and/or recommendations.


While the normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., there are times the work hours will be adjusted to meet the needs of international partners. This can include early morning, evening hours after 5:00 p.m., or weekends.





Required Qualifications:




  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, which must include at least 18 quarter or 12 semester hours of accounting, auditing or budgeting; OR equivalent education/experience.




  • WSU Research Administration Certification within 12 months of hire date.




  • ORSO Budget Certification within 12 months of hire date.




  • Demonstrated experience collecting, analyzing, and/or synthesizing data for actionable insights.




  • Proficiency working with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.




  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.




  • Demonstrated ability to balance shifting prioritizes and deadlines and organize financial data from various sources.




  • Experience using various collaborative platforms (TEAMS, Zoom, Outlook, other PM applications).




  • Demonstrated ability developing relationships with teammates across time zones, boarders, and cultures, to deliver successful financial reporting and operational project support.







Preferred Qualifications:




  • Demonstrated experience with data management and visualization techniques, and/or statistical analysis and predictive modeling.




  • Experience and/or knowledge of state and federal laws/regulations pertaining to fiscal management.




  • Demonstrated work experience that requires fiscal accountability, internal controls, and organizational skills.




  • Experience with cloud-based ERP and accounting solutions such as Workday.




  • Professional experience working in a higher education environment.

Monthly Salary:


$3,376 to $4,497 | Range 40 (Steps A-M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
