Job Description:

UC Health is hiring an EVS Manager for the Environmental Services department at the Daniel Drake Center.

The EVS Manager will assist the EVS Director in providing quality environmental services in an efficient, cost-effective manner in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards and requirements.

  • Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • CHESP Certification preferred
  • 3 Years of Environmental Services Management experience in a Healthcare Facility preferred

  • Assists in the implementation of environmental services programs which are designed to provide a clean and sanitary facility.
  • Regularly inspects completed work and produces QC reports.
  • Recommends new methods to improve overall performance.
  • Assists in the development of staffing assignments which will ensure efficient, cost-effective completion of cleaning.
  • Develops and executes the daily activities of the EVS Department in accordance with customer expectations, service requirements, and objectives.
  • Develops and maintains an organizational structure and staffing schedules.
  • Monitor work flow and daily operation of the department.
  • Develops effective facility relations through formal and informal programs, both verbal and written.
  • Secures and develops supervisors and associates through training so they can meet performance standards.
  • Evaluates and counsels personnel on work performance. Makes recommendations for hiring and termination of associates.
  • Develops and maintains documentation and other criteria as required by all regulatory agencies.
  • Establishes operating standards and implements quality improvements.
  • Develops policies and procedures to meet operational demands.
  • Implements inventory control procedures by recommending types of supplies to be ordered, quantity, and timing of orders.
  • Maintains appropriate records to track inventory levels, items ordered, and related costs.
  • Manages the program for the collection, treatment, and disposal of infectious waste.
  • Serves as acting director in his / her absence.
  • Coordinate the training and orientation for new associates and supervisors.
