Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY
The General Store Manager is responsible for the seasonal operations of the General Store and it's satellite locations around the farm. This includes managing the store staff and ensuring safety. The General Store Manager sets an example for General Store staff in areas such as cashiering, scheduling, pumpkin sizing, and customer service. This position must have a flexible schedule, including availability for nights and weekends, to accommodate the unique demands of our event-driven environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Cashiering/Customer Service:
During the months of July/August, lead and train the Flower Shack and Gem Mining cashier staff.
During the months of September/October, lead and train the General Store staff which includes cashiers and pumpkin sizer staff.
Manage opening and closing procedures using Clover POS system.
Ensures understanding on the farms system for sizing and pricing pumpkins.
Create and manage store staffs schedules, including meal periods.
Train and supervise seasonal team leads, cashiers and pumpkin sizers for UPick Sunflowers & Fall Festival.
Handles customer complaints, makes decisions related to prices changes, refunds etc.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Setup/Merchandising:
Leads the setup and decoration of temporary retail spaces including Flower Shack, General Store, Gem Mining, Pumpkinland and (New) Paintball Galleries.
Leads the setup and decoration of outdoor produce sales displays near General Store and Pumpkinland.
Working with Office Manager to lead setup team in pricing items and making sure data is entered correctly in Clover POS system.
Assist Office Manager in tracking inventory as it arrives as well as counting inventory at the end of the season.
Direct and collaborate with the team to ensure all retail areas are adequately stocked and coordinate with the Office Manager if additional orders are needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
Cashiering experience required.
Management experience preferred.
Merchandising experience preferred.
Knowledge of pumpkin and squash varieties preferred.
Knowledge of basic flower care preferred.
Communication skills for effective team and customer interactions.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to work alone and in large crowd settings.
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including nights and weekends, to meet the needs of the seasonal attraction.

moderate.
