Position Summary


The Carlyle Group seeks to hire a 2-year Associate to join the Global Credit Management team in New York to focus on Portfolio Management and Corporate Development for the Global Credit platform and Cross Platform accounts.


The position will primarily focus on Portfolio Construction and Portfolio Management for the accounts that span all strategies within Global Credit (67%). These vehicles include, but are not limited to, a 1940 Act regulated fund and large institutional SMAs. This position will have exposure to Credit senior management on a daily basis and see credit investments that span differing liquidity, risk and geographic profiles.


The position will also focus on Product Development and Corporate Strategy for the Global Credit platform (33%). The associate will be responsible for supporting strategic growth initiatives, both organic and inorganic, across the Global Credit platform. Such initiatives may include, but are not limited to, new product development, the evaluation of potential strategic transactions, and the development of strategic partnerships.



Responsibilities




  • Assist with the portfolio management of Cross Platform investment vehicles


  • Interact with the portfolio managers on a regular basis regarding portfolio construction, asset selection, liquidity and liability management, and position monitoring

  • Work with internal and external partners on marketing materials

  • •Produce portfolio review materials on a regular basis for the Fund's Board and management

  • Conduct detailed market and financial analysis to support the firm's strategic decisions and growth initiatives

  • Assist in managing, structuring, and executing transactions and product launches, including due diligence, document preparation, and financial modeling

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of industry trends and competitive dynamics

  • Work on ad hoc projects across the Credit business which relate to new business development and investor relations

  • Develop a strong and wide-ranging relationship with internal and external Carlyle stakeholders to facilitate day-to-day responsibilities

  • Think strategically about ways to streamline Carlyle's processes and grow Carlyle's business



Benefits/Compensation


The compensation range for this role is specific to New York City and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.


The anticipated base salary for this role is $150,000.


In addition to the base salary, the hired professional will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package spanning retirement benefits, health insurance, life insurance and disability, paid time off, paid holidays, family planning benefits and various wellness programs. Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.



Qualifications



Professional Experience



The target candidate will be trained Analysts/Associates with a minimum of 2 years of experience at an investment bank, private equity firm, or asset manager, with exposure to a wide range of transactions, portfolio and/ or valuation work and due diligence assignments. Successful candidates will be strong team players with the confidence to interact with all levels of the organization and ability to thrive in a fast-pace and entrepreneurial environment. The target candidate's background will include:




  • Advanced financial modeling capability and ability to interpret financial metrics or complete financial analysis when analyzing investment opportunities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills




Education & Certifications





  • Bachelor's degree required
