In this role, you will:
Proficient at all duties of an Immunohistochemistry Technician II including:
Preparation of slides for staining, including cutting paraffin sections (with particular attention to preservation of tissue); sections using patient and control material.
Accurate performance of all aspects of Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Chromogenic in Situ Hybridization including antibody titrations, preparation of retrieval reagents, actual stain procedure and QC documenting of run completion with labeling, packaging, and delivery of finished product within departmental TAT standards.
Maintenance of adequate control material needed for immunohistochemistry procedures.
Preparation of slides for staining, including cutting frozen sections (with particular attention to preservation of tissue); smears sections using patient and control material.
Accurate performance of all aspects of Immunofluorescence and cytochemistry including actual stain procedure, reagent preparation and QC documenting of run completion
All you need is:
At minimum graduation from a school of Histotechnology accredited by CAHEA/NAACLS AND HT (ASCP)
1 year of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing
Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent
Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
Bonus points if you've got:
2+ years of laboratory training or experience in a high-volume laboratory with documented special stain and immunohistochemistry experience
