As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing cost management processes, analyzing financial data to assist in financial planning, and providing detailed cost information to help the company optimize its production and budgeting strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and manage cost accounting systems and procedures.
Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
Assist in audits and general ledger preparation.
Conduct inventory analysis and management to prevent discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
Collaborate with various departments to analyze costs of new products and propose cost-saving solutions.
Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost, and inventory liability accounts by customer type.
Assist in month-end close of the general ledger by preparing necessary journal entries.
Analyze and report margin analysis by product, division, or customer.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant, or similar role.
Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and financial reporting practices, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience with accounting software and databases.
Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
Strong time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
