Our client is a General Contractor that specializes in Roadway and Highway projects and other critical infrastructure valued at $50-$200 million and over 50 years of stability.
Your new role
Create precise and timely Heavy, Civil, Roadway, Highway construction estimates.
Thoroughly examine detailed drawings and specifications.
Understand project requirements and constraints.
Submit RFI's to Agencies, Owners, General Contractors and Architects as needed during bidding process.
Identify and price alternatives to original plans and specifications.
Optimize cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality.
Generate budget estimates based on schematic drawings and narrative descriptions.
Prepare scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations.
Foster positive relationships with clients and vendors.
Lead the Estimating Department.
Mentor junior personnel.
Maintain and enhance computerized estimating programs and databases.
Work efficiently under time pressure.
Handle change-orders during ongoing projects.
Facilitate smooth transitions from estimating to operations by clearly communicating detailed scopes of work, specifications, and job-specific conditions.
Review estimates created by others for accuracy and completeness.
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 12 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Working knowledge of AGTEK Take-off, Blue-Beam Take-off, Primavera, HCSS
Demonstrated experience in Civil, Highway, Roadway, Caltrans work
