Summary:
The Memorial Healthcare System Epic Connect Business Development and Relationship Manager is accountable for the overall success and day-to-day operations of MHS's Community Connect program including the development and oversight of the strategy, roadmap, budget, and implementation. Leads a matrixed IS team to scope, plan and deliver solutions following the established project management framework and solution best practices. Collaborates with Epic and other technology vendors that are core to the community connect program and ensures trust, excellent service, and support. Develops and maintains strong relationships and regularly communicates with stakeholders and customers.
Directs the department's activities and resources to ensure alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of the department and organization. Manages the implementation, ongoing maintenance/support, and enhancements of clinical systems utilized across clinical care settings to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. Advances Information Technology service delivery in clinical settings, including the implementation of best practice technology platforms while ensuring provision of a safe, reliable, and an efficient patient-centered care experience.
Responsibilities:
Manages and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
Manages the planning of application development and deployment and educates and promotes adherence to the company's software compliance standards within the team.
Monitors and provides training, support and troubleshooting to both application teams and end users to facilitate proper usage and continuous learning.
Manages applications projects including workflow analysis, end user validation and acceptance, go-live, and maintenance using standard project management methodology. Sets project deadlines and deliverables for specific modules and analysis as required.
Manages the debugging and enhancements processes including the design, patches, and upgrades to existing systems in order to ensure up-to-date and reliable functionality.
Selects opportunities identified by team to implement and improve existing processes using information technology and ensures alignment with strategic initiatives of the organization.
Oversees the building and coding of various applications and/or modules using languages such as C++, Visual Basic, JAVA, XTML, Objective C, HTML, .NET, SQL and vendor specific technology tools such as Infor, Hyland, Epic, etc.
Provides thought leadership and input into web-based, mobile technology, cloud, and security interface in order to meet the specific needs of users and lead innovation of applications.
Reviews operating instructions, communicates program development, and audits system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
Reviews business and technical processes to make recommendations to improve existing processes based on market and industry research as well as key data findings from business applications team.
Oversees the vendor selection to determine appropriate and cost-effective clinical application resources as well contract review.

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication and organizational skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: Five (5) years of information technology/clinical informatics experience and/or clinical experience in specialized clinical settings. Knowledge of regulatory requirements. Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, Outlook and Excel. Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent decision making, promoting safety first and exceptional service delivery. Other Information: Additional Education Info: Relevant work experience or IT certifications may substitute for education requirement.Additional Credential Info: RN licensure or other advanced clinical degree (e.g., LCSW, NP, RRT, PharmD) or Epic certification required.
