HERFF JONES, Distribution Center Support - Champaign, IL

YOUR OPPORTUNITY:

The Herff Jones Cap & Gown division is looking for a DC Support in the Distribution Center to join our team.

How You'll Make an Impact:

As a Distribution Center Support, you will be required to differentiate several types of material and inspect all component parts to ensure they meet our quality standards. The Support role is a developmental role designed to expand the abilities of trusted members, leading to more leadership possibilities in the future. The support is the first step in an employee's search for answers and should focus on the employee's training, knowledge, and production goals. The Support is their first interaction with company leadership and must foster an environment of mutual respect and leadership.

But don't worry, we would never ask an employee to take on an assignment they didn't already have the right skill sets they need to succeed. As we see it for right now, however, here are the challenges that we want you to tackle:

• Supports Team Leads in insuring proper workflow through the department.
• Aids and assists Team Lead as needed.
• Help achieve daily department goals focusing on quality and efficiency.
• Motivate and encourage all team members to achieve hourly, daily, and weekly production goals.
• Help Team Lead develop and implement daily quotas and production goals.
• Understand team member training levels and skills to efficiently move personnel base on department attendance issues (call-ins).
• Know and understand the entire process of the department and be able to correct any potential problems that may arise.
• Identify problems before it makes it to the Team Lead and try to minimize impacts to production goals.

• Strong communication skills
• Reading, writing and math skills commensurate with job duties.
• Will meet production and quality standards for this operation.
• Physical strength and dexterity to perform essential functions.
• Understand the steps of construction and quality standards.
• Safe and efficient use of a single needle and multi needle sewing machine.
• Must have the skills and experience to perform other sewing operations in the department.
• Perform all functions/tasks within the Manufacturing Department.
• May require lifting. Anything 50 lbs. use team lift.
• Sitting or standing for 8 hours a day or longer during the busy season.
• Must be able to work all mandatory overtime.
• May be asked to perform other duties by supervisor dictated by business needs.
