Job Description:

Title: Credit Investment Analyst

Experience: 1-2 years

Reports to: Managing Director of Credit Investments

The credit investment analyst will support all areas of HGI's real estate credit investment initiatives as well as capital markets execution. Investment areas of focus will include but are not limited to: CRE CLO, SASB and Agency B-Piece bonds. The credit investment analyst will also have the opportunity to assist in the underwriting of other real estate lending opportunities which arise.

Primary Responsibilities

- Assist in the management of transaction pipeline and reporting to key internal and external stakeholders.

- Assist in the due diligence and underwriting of new lending and bond purchase opportunities.

- Monitor daily bond auctions and direct offers from sell-side relationships.

- Perform periodic sell/hold analysis for various investments dependent on market and credit conditions.

- Support screening and underwriting process of a broad range of transactions, including preparing memos, coordinating trade booking and documenting approvals.

- General capital markets analysis and reporting, including tracking pricing across various financing sources.

- Market and product research relating to new investment opportunities.

- Assist the team with additional ad hoc projects and requests as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or relevant required

- 1-2 years of relevant experience in a banking, investment, or credit underwriting role.

- Understanding of financial markets and fundamentals required.

- Underwriting experience of commercial real estate and/or structured financial products.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as exceptional written and verbal communication skills required.

- Flexible with the ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills required.

- Ability to work in a high-paced, dynamic environment.

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

- Some level of experience with Bloomberg is a plus.
