INSURANCE-LOSS CONTROL-CLAIMS (UA-RISK-IUBLA)



Job Summary



Department-Specific Responsibilities


  • Performs a variety of difficult and complex administrative, analytical, and clerical tasks within the Office of Insurance, Loss Control and Claims (INLOCC).

  • Provides administrative support services to the Director, Associate Director, Assistant Directors, and other INLOCC staff, and supervises a junior support staff member.

  • Audits all departmental time, attendance, and payroll functions. Initiates and issues Certificates of Liability Insurance for IU events occurring at off-campus facilities.

  • Works with outside vendors to ensure accuracy and compliance with the University's Minimum Insurance Requirements.

  • Processes all P-card receipts and travel expenditures.

  • Supervises the University Motor Vehicle Records check program.

  • Prepares and processes purchase orders for the purchase and renewal of numerous insurance policies each year.

  • Maintains INLOCC records within the Onbase Document Storage system, as well as scans and catalogs all INLOCC claim files and insurance renewal documents and policies.

  • Opens and closes claim files, both paper and digital, within the claims management system.

  • Processes payments within the claims management system upon request from managing adjuster.

General Responsibilities


  • Provides administrative support to executives, exercising confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.

  • Utilizes business software applications to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc.

  • Receives, screens, and directs incoming calls, visitors, mail, and email promptly, courteously, and accurately

  • Manages executive's calendar, meetings, travel, correspondence, and budget.

  • Acts as informal resource for colleagues with less experience; responds to more complex or escalated inquiries

  • Identifies, enhances, and follows specific processes and procedures to maximize the efficiencies of the business to which the support is being provided.

  • May perform other duties related to maintaining an internal website and/or working with social media.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.


EDUCATION



Required



  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)


Preferred



  • Supervisory experience

Working Conditions / Demands



This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Bloomington, Indiana


The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule from home and the office, subject to change based on university policy and the department's business needs. Because some responsibilities can only be performed in the office, fully remote work is not an option for this position.



Advertised Salary



$21.79 - $23.00 per hour depending upon qualifications.
