The purpose of the Safety Manager is to provide program and technical assistance to facility leadership to improve the respective health and safety performance and compliance systems. This individual works principally with our facility leadership and Corporate SH&E to deliver an employee safety culture of zero harm, reduce operational risks, and provide a safe work environment for all employees. This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure and influence across the organization to grow and develop in the SH&E field.


Here's What You’ll Get To Do:



  • Provide guidance and direction to facility leadership in support of their efforts to implement OBE Safety, Health and Environment Programs.

  • Assist with assessments, surveys, and program evaluations to identify potential hazards, and ensure compliance with all applicable OBE SH&E programs.

  • Assist with inspections and behavioral observations.

  • Assist in the investigation of incidents and development of corrective action plans.

  • Meet regularly with facility leadership to discuss the status of corrective action plans.

  • Manage the recordkeeping system to track safety training and other safety related documentation.·         Entering incidents using Velocity (OBE incident reporting and tracking system).

  • Provide support and assistance in the preparation, compilation, and distribution of safety reports as needed

  • Work with Corporate SH&E to standardize LOTO, JSA, Powered Industrial Trucks, Machine Guarding, etc. programs throughout the facility.

  • Providing technical support for site SH&E programs.

  • Complete Environmental reporting and compliance activities as required

  • Act as the point of contact for Federal, State and Local regulatory agencies.

  • Assist with SH&E training including monthly training topics, user training, environmental training, and new hire training.

  • Work closely with Human Resources and Corporate SH&E to manage workers’ compensation claims.


Here’s What We Are Looking For:



  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field preferred

  • 2 - 4 years of safety experience in manufacturing/fabrication environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships

  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively across the organization; demonstrated leadership and coaching skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Physical Requirements:



  • Frequently required to stand, sit, bend and kneel, to use hands and fingers to handle/reach tools, machines, and equipment.

  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, heat/humidity and loud noise in an industrial environment.
