Who We Are Looking For:

We want to add an experienced and motivated Electrical Engineer to our electrical engineering group. The successful candidate will join an established, respected, and growing team providing electrical engineering services to our practices across the firm. As an Electrical Engineer at Woodard & Curran, you will work on electrical distribution, relaying, power generation, motor control, and lighting projects for our industrial, water, wastewater, municipal, design-build, and plant operations clients on a regional and national basis. You will interface with clients to understand their power, lighting, and motor control requirements for municipal, utility, and industrial facilities. You will also prepare and coordinate engineering reports, studies, calculations, drawings, and specifications. In addition, you will perform construction phase services such as shop drawing review and contractor oversight.

Your work will come in varying degrees of complexity. Although you will work independently on most projects, our experienced staff will be there to support you collaboratively as a team. You will support our project managers with the technical delivery of projects or tasks within scope, schedule, and budget. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver electrical design solutions consistent with process, mechanical, and control system requirements in a consulting environment. What You Will Be Doing at Woodard & Curran:


  • Perform all general technical duties as described but with increased independence and responsibility.

  • Assignments may include equipment selection, preparation of engineering plans and details, specifications, written reports, utilization of modeling software for engineering evaluation, and other task-based activities specific to a defined and limited part of the overall project scope.

  • May be assigned to short-term field assignments.

  • Responsible for understanding project and assignment scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Responsible for understanding personal utilization goals.

  • Supported the preparation of cost estimates for new projects.

  • May work directly with clients, subcontractors, and/or regulatory agencies to gather information and respond to questions.

  • The list of duties is intended to be optional, and other duties may be assigned as needed.

What you need to succeed:


  • A B.S. degree in engineering, FE, or EIT is preferred.

  • 2 + years relevant experience or a Master's degree in a related field.

  • Membership in appropriate Professional/Technical Society.

$65,000 - $98,000 a year

This position's anticipated pay range is provided below; final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will depend on experience level and consider a percentage-based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials recognize and reflect the cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
