Position Summary:
The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor, leads and oversees shipping and receiving operations for inbound and outbound materials, products, bundles and miscellaneous supplies including the scheduling, arrangement and coordination of transport to ensure shipping/receiving timelines are met utilizing the ERP (EPICOR). This role involves coordinating with various departments to meet production schedules, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading trucks, inspecting shipments, and verifying contents
Lead Shipping/Receiving operations responsible for the proper processing of all inbound and outbound shipments
Plan and schedule daily shipping and receiving tasks to meet production and customer delivery requirements
Train and provide guidance to shipping and receiving team members to ensure adherence to procedures and standards.
Collaborate with production, logistics, and procurement departments to prioritize orders, resolve issues, and optimize workflow efficiency
Implement and enforce safety protocols, including the proper handling of hazardous materials and compliance with OSHA regulations
Utilize inventory management software and other tools to track shipments, update inventory records, and generate reports
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in shipping and receiving operations.
Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area, including proper storage and disposal of materials.
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve discrepancies, address concerns, and ensure timely deliveries
Create loading schedule using information from our ERP and Production software
Organize shipments using transportation management software (TMS)
Create bill of lading (BOL) and supporting documents for truck load (TL) and less than truckload (LTL) shipments
Will communicate regularly using a combination of phone and email systems
Will need to be able to understand and react to an ever changing shipping schedule
Work overtime as needed to meet the schedule
Will oversee a team of 5 to 10 employees
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
Assist with interviewing, hiring, and training employees
Assist with planning, assigning, and directing work
Address performance
Address complaints and resolving problems
Position Qualifications:
Technical School in Logistics, Supply Chain, Materials Handling or related field
5 years in Operations/Manufacturing
Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as required
Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
