This position offers a hybrid work schedule(M-W in the office and Thur-Fri remote) and is also eligible for a 9/80 work schedule.
Kinder Morgan is currently seeking a Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity (MI) Engineer to support the Mechanical Integrity Department. Some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Actively develop/evergreen Mechanical Integrity procedures that support and assure compliance to all company policies and procedures.
Manage Mechanical Integrity inspection contractor(s) for respective areas. This includes QA/QC of inspection documentation.
Provide engineering support with PSM Mechanical Integrity requirements (inspections and repairs to pressure vessels/piping) for various processing units.
Evaluate equipment problems and conduct root cause failure analysis investigations on failed equipment, develop action plan to eliminate repeat failures, and implement corrective actions, as necessary.
Work with operations to identify key areas for Mechanical Integrity improvements and develop action plans to drive higher asset availability.
Provide technical support for capital projects with engineering expertise for specification, design, and construction of projects in accordance with company requirements, industry standards and regulatory codes.
Contribute to the effective use of CMMS(Maximo) and IDMS(PCMS) software to improve fixed equipment availability.
Optimize preventative maintenance tasks and activities, identify gaps, and develop corrective actions plan, drive implementation and evaluate improvement performance.
Provide technical support for Federal, State, and internal audits.
Work with company and non-company personnel, take direction from manager(s), focus attention on details, follow work rules, and adhere to work schedules.
Promote open, ethical, and continuous communications between various departments, customers, and personnel.
Business travel outside your responsible area may be required and could be up to 20% of time.
Position Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical degree.
Experience/Knowledge:
Minimum of 5 years of experience with fixed equipment in petroleum, natural gas, or petrochemical industry required; 7 years+ preferred.
Familiarity and understanding of the OSHA 1910.119 PSM and EPA 29 CFR Part 68 Risk Management Standards with emphasis on Mechanical Integrity requirements.
Natural gas process facility equipment design and evaluation experience, both existing and new facilities.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications, Microsoft Outlook, PCMS, and CMMS software.
Candidate should be knowledgeable in API 510, 570, 653, ASME PCC/BPVC & Pressure Piping Codes, ASTM, as well as API 579/ASME FFS.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interface with a diverse range of personnel with varying disciplines, backgrounds, and experience levels.
Strong customer focus in dealing with Project Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Operations, Contractors, Suppliers and other internal and external groups.
Ability to develop, read, and interpret mechanical blueprints and diagrams, including flow charts, cause/effect diagrams, and Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&ID's).
Certifications, licenses, registrations:
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet company insurability requirements.

Pay range: $99,300 -$144,400 per year. This position includes a discretionary annual incentive plan. Job level and pay commensurate with experience and skill set.
