A Day in the Life

This role is responsible for creating and driving US sales strategies and execution plans that will accelerate therapy awareness, penetration, and new user adoption for Medtronic's Interventional products in existing and new accounts. These Medtronic Interventional products and therapies include: Balloon Kyphoplasty (BKP) and Vertebroplasty products, OsteoCool bone ablation products, Emprint microwave ablation products, and any new Interventional products and therapies added to the Pain Interventions portfolio. Frequent collaboration with leadership, sales team members, cross functional partners, and customer stakeholders will be critical to achieving organizational alignment and successful commercial execution. This individual will represent the business in accordance with its policies as a key US commercial leader for Pain Interventions while maintaining an awareness of changing market and competitive dynamics, both nationally and in local geographies. Success in the role will require close partnership with sales, marketing and business leadership to assess and modify our strategies and commercial execution plans as needed.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • Partner with internal stakeholders to create therapy awareness and sales execution initiatives that will help our field sales teams to meet and exceed company revenue and profitability plans by driving increased patient access to Interventional therapies and the broad Pain Interventions portfolio.
  • Responsible for developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with stakeholders including, but not limited to, Medtronic sales teams, customers, and KOLs.
  • Identify challenges in the market and in our sales model that impede our ability to grow the Interventional business and collaborate to formulate and execute potential solutions.
  • Identify examples of successful strategies and tactics across the field teams and drive awareness and execution consistency across the field organization.
  • Work in close collaboration with Regional Sales Directors, District Managers, and Sales Representatives to identify new and existing accounts ripe for Interventional therapy growth, and partner on local projects, programs and Interventional therapy awareness activities as needed.
  • Develop extensive knowledge and familiarity with key literature and market intelligence related to our Interventional therapies as well as competitive products/therapies, and share perspective and subject matter expertise with our business and field teams.
  • Conduct and/or evaluate market research including customers and competitor activities.
  • Assesses customer needs and feedback regarding our interventional portfolio and customer support model, and communicate to internal stakeholders including Marketing, R&D, Operations and Sales leadership as necessary.
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, customer engagement events, conventions and trade shows as needed.
  • Establish strong collaborative partnership with other departments (Marketing, Sales Operations, Finance, Sales Training, Clinical, Engineering, Regulatory, Legal, HR, etc.) to identify key business issues and execute on market opportunities.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of sales experience with 3 of those 5 years in medical sales; or
  • Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years of Medtronic RTG (Pain, Brain or Spine) Clinical Specialist experience

In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals. Learn more about total rewards here .

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
