Description: The Judge Group is in search of a Food Scientist to join an exceptional and innovative, high-growth Food Manufacturer in the Northern Suburbs of Chicago.
Food Scientist-R&D to perform food product development work to meet project objectives. Projects will include commercialization of new products, Shelf-life Management, Creation and Management of Sensory Programs, Quality Improvement and Cost Optimization of existing products and processes.
Responsibilities:
Executes small scale and large-scale plant tests
Creates and manages product specifications
Performed and manage sensory evaluations
Manage shelf-life studies.
Maintains accurate and complete records, analyzes reports
Utilizes a working knowledge of plant processes and facilities
Provides onsite monitoring and technical assistance to operations when testing/manufacturing new products.
Leads commercialization of product changes and implementation of new items and processes.
Identify and lead projects to drive revenue and margin growth for the organization.
Skills/Proficiencies:
Strong technical/analytical skills
Good time management and multitasking skills
Computer skills that include Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Experience:
BS Food Science, Chemistry, or similar field
Master's Degree in Food science, Animal Science, Meat Science a big plus!
1-2 years in food product development experience on the meat industry
