Job Description Summary

Financial Analyst – GLM Mortgage Accounting will be responsible for supporting the Wintrust Finance Corporate Controller Department.   Responsibilities will include daily cash monitoring, gain on sale allocation, mortgages held for sale tracking, general ledger entries, financial and investor- accounting analysis, bank and GL analysis, day-to-day cash management functions, as well as supporting the Corporate Controller department with various special projects as needed. This role will be expected to interact cross-departmentally with multiple levels of management and handle sensitive information on a regular basis.

What You’ll Do


  • Monitor, interpret, and post activity for operating bank accounts, cash clearing accounts, and wire transfer accounts

  • Complete general ledger entries and daily reconciliations for mortgage related activity across multiple loan origination systems

  • Work with the VP Finance-Mortgage and Accounting department in the ME/QE/YE Close process. Responsible for various general ledger account analysis

  • Maintains and improves quality results by following standards and recommending improved policies and procedures

  • Take ultimate accountability for the achievement of goals set forth by management

  • Continual development and improvement of financial reports

  • Working as part of a team and effectively supporting colleagues

Knowledge/Skills/Background/Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience required; experience in mortgage industry is preferred

  • Advanced Excel skill required, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Outlook.

  • Ability to work under pressure with strict time deadlines and attention to detail as well as multitasking

  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication (both written and oral) skill, be a self-starter, motivated, energetic, with excellent time-management skills.
