An employee in this position performs a wide range of duties associated with both emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire and emergency medical services.
This position receives requests for police, security and other emergency services through on scene observations, telecommunications, emergency alarms and personal contact with campus patrons.
An employee in this position additionally may perform a variety of duties involving operating the College switchboard system telephones; greeting Campus visitors, providing location instructions; transfer incoming college phone calls.

Ability to obtain, note and transfer details of complex situations to police or security officers by telephone or radio communication.
Ability to effectively prepare, organize, file and retrieve written forms, logs and report documents.
Ability to operate office business equipment (i.e. scanners FAX and Copiers)
Ability to respond effectively and calmly with difficult or irate callers.
Ability to remain calm in an emergency situation.

Ability to use a two-way radio.

1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor, Campus Police Department office setting.
This position requires the person to occasionally be exposed to infectious diseases.
This position requires the person to occasionally function around prisoners, mental patients, uncooperative, agitated and hostile individuals.
Successful completion of some college credit hours.
College Campus Student Life Experience.
Experience as a police dispatcher.
Experience with a law enforcement agency.
OLETS Certification active or expired.
Prior customer service training or experience.
Experience with moderately complex computer programs.
Experience with organizing, filing and retrieving documents from files.
Must complete NIMS IS-100, IS-200, IS-700
Must successfully complete CJIS/OLETS Training
Must Successfully complete OKFirst Radar Training (12 mos.)
Annual Campus Security Authority (CSA) Training
The Campus Police Department operates 24 hours.
Successful applicant can be assigned to any shift to best meet the needs of the Campus Police Department.

Calmly and effectively respond to telephone, radio and electronic requests for emergency and non-emergency services, utilizing tactful and professional communication.
Greet visitors to the Campus Police Department, effectively assist or appropriately refer them for proper disposition of their reason for visit.
Effectively obtain necessary details from service request source to provide for rapid, safe and competent response by police officers.
Effectively discern nature of incidents, prioritize the need for response, determine need for external resources, exchange information and create and update automated incident logs.
Maintain effective awareness of campus geography, campus activities, planned campus events, key campus business services, key staff members, college departments, safety hazards, locations of public safety response equipment, fire and safety alarm control points and key facility security issues.
Effectively monitor and operate campus (CCTV) system to assist officers in maintaining a safe and secure campus.
Monitor subscribed weather services for potential threats or impacts of severe or winter weather.
Monitor and effectively respond to all activity alerts from campus fire and security alarm systems.
Effectively enter and maintain campus police activities in dispatch and other critical logs and databases.
Collect, collate and process information and correspondence related to the handling of lost & found property, campus traffic citations and other public safety business operations.
Effectively prepare, log, file and retrieve police records.
Adhere to campus and department telephone policies and procedures.
Adhere to campus Information Technology acceptable use policy.
Maintain confidentiality with regard to all restricted law enforcement, student or personnel records.
Answer and effectively direct incoming telephone calls to College exchange when necessary.
Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.
Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC's established safety and health procedures and practices.
Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
This position has been identified as having significant responsibility for student and campus activities. The individual holding this position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs are required to report crimes they become aware of to the Reporting Structure at Oklahoma City Community College. Annual CSA training is required for individuals holding this position.
