JOB SUMMARY

Manages the security services and related operations provided to an assigned Client Contract including client service and problem resolution, ensuring all contractual obligations are met, operational effectiveness, staffing, scheduling, supervision, and training. Specific duties or tasks may vary and be documented separately.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • All functions, duties, or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical, and professional manner and are to be performed in conformance with applicable company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives .


  1. Manages the security services and related operations provided to an assigned contract(s) including ensuring all contractual operations are met, all posts are staffed and worked with employees possessing required certifications.

  2. Functions as a supervisor of Security Officers, Lead Officers, and other company personnel assigned to one or more posts at client site(s); acts to ensure that all post orders are followed, that established rounds are completed, and that required reports are filed; notifies proper authorities and client in emergency situations.

  3. Prepares and coordinates staffing schedules for contract / site; acts to ensure that scheduling is handled effectively to meet contract requirements while controlling labor costs; inputs employee time in applicable payroll system and other employee timekeeping responsibilities.

  4. Coaches and disciplines personnel as appropriate; seeks advice from company management or designated representatives as appropriate; meets personally with employees and documents coaching and disciplinary actions.

  5. Trains Security Officers, line supervisors and other company personnel; reviews post orders and other details of assignments with subordinates.

  6. In conjunction with company management or designated representatives ensures adequate coverage of all posts and positions.

  7. Prepares, files, and submits various reports as required.

  8. Inspects posts as scheduled and randomly to ensure all officers throughout the contract meet uniform and certification guidelines; meets with subordinates to outline tasks and responsibilities.

  9. As assigned, in accordance with applicable company policies and procedures and in compliance with state and federal laws, carries out supervisory duties that can include some or all of the following: interviewing, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising, performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and making hiring and termination recommendations.

  10. Performs additional functions, duties and specific tasks of a similar nature and scope as necessary in order to achieve assigned business objectives.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY

Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference depending upon the nature of the position

Basic Qualifications


  • US citizenship preferred

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Ability to acquire and maintain any other specific government / agency clearances and or access requirements.


Education/Experience

  • Associate Degree and two (2) years of experience in security operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.

  • May substitute a four-year degree / at least four years of documented leadership experience, either in law enforcement, military, or armed security or a combination of both leadership and college courses pursuing a Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement or Homeland Security degree.


Background Prerequisites

Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, physical examination as per assignment and behavioral selection survey, in addition to any mandatory licensing requirements

Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing)


  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to continuously self-educate and adapt to the changes in related industry and service delivery methods.

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures.

  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual, emotional or confrontational circumstances.

  • Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization.

  • Ability to provide high quality customer service and service delivery orientation

  • Knowledge of federal and state laws related to weapons in the State.

  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures.

  • Skill in staff supervision, including assigning work and providing training and discipline.

  • Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance.

  • Understanding of a variety of security and safety devices and controls.

  • Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments.

  • Knowledge of business operations management and human resources administration.

  • Ability to synthesize business / financial data and develop recommendations.

  • Ability to take initiative and achieve results.

  • Ability to see, hear, speak, and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and clients. Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.

  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.

  • Ability to be an effective leader and team member.

  • Courteous telephone manner.

  • Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization.

  • Good planning, organizational, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to provide high quality customer service and delivery orientation.

  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office Suite, computer usage, and operating controls.

  • Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.


WORKING CONDITIONS (Physical/Mental Demands)

  • Frequent local and regional/national travel to client sites for presentations, meetings, and visits.

  • Frequent lifting and/or moving of presentation materials up to 20 pounds.
