Get to Know This Role

Printer Technician will provide technical, diagnostic, and operational expertise related to the operation of the digital can printer. This position will be responsible for printing jobs from pre-press through order fulfillment including color management, can and print quality and printer throughput. This role is responsible for production and support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) System as defined in the SQF Code. There will be Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety and Food Security Training as required by Local, State, Federal and SNBC policies. All duties will be completed in a manner that is consistent with all aspects of Company Safety Rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF). Employees shall report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

What You Will Do



  • Operate the printer to maximize throughput while still maintaining quality standards.

  • Work with production scheduling, warehouse, and procurement to organize the materials, manpower and product required to meet the daily production schedule. Update scheduling on progress daily to ensure accuracy.

  • Maintain and control quality by checking print output against proof on a regular frequency and inspect for defects. Make corrections to eliminate defects and bring print back to standard.

  • Conduct and complete PMs and work orders, addressing issues as they arise (repairs, inspections, and necessary adjustments) to include the assistance of maintenance personnel when needed.

  • Account for yield loss at each operation by maintaining accurate records.

  • Work collaboratively with Pre-Press to create color proofs for customer sign off on new art while maintaining the proofing standard files with current rev levels for existing art.

  • Complete shortage reports on a regular basis. Order, receive, and inventory consumables.

  • Perform housekeeping functions to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

  • Trouble shoot and problem solve to quickly mitigate issues before they result is loss of product or machine downtime.

  • 3 years related work experience required

  • Experience with color management LAB values color separation preferred

  • Experience with print register, layout and print quality preferred




  • Understand the principles around yield loss and how to continually improve yields.

  • The ability to learn new software and apply those learnings to master the operation of the printer.

  • Good time management skills and the ability to be flexible in a dynamic work environment.

  • Organizing the functions of production to meet customers’ requirements and being strategic in thought to gain efficiency in scheduling and throughput.

  • Verbal and written communication skills are essential in developing a strong process with upstream and downstream operations.

  • Ability to properly use PPE is required.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus




  • Forklift Certification upon hire
