Responsible for leading a team of analysts in developing and delivering proposals for customer agreements via financial analysis and commercial evaluation for multi-million dollar new business and renewal opportunities. The role is expected to work with cross-functional teams to manage projects and support creative solutions to meet customer needs while ensuring alignment with Americold's financial parameters and risk profile.
Key Accountability Areas Manage Team of Analysts
Manage a team of analysts in order to effectively deliver commercial proposals and meet aggressive deadlines
Provide ongoing meaningful training, mentorship, and thought leadership
Review and ensure team output meets quality and accuracy standards
Create and maintain development plans for team members focusing on personal and professional growth
Managing Internal Commercial Processes
Establish relationships cross functionally that enable process adherence
Influence key stakeholders, internal and external, to conform to best commercial practices
Ensure appropriate stage gates in internal processes are adhered to by stakeholders
Review and approve all models and outputs from team before being circulated to broader stakeholder groups
Prepare, host and lead presentations of analysis ensuring alignment from cross functional stakeholders
Prepare executive level presentations delivering a clear message
Foster collaboration across functional groups to enhance profitability and advance commercial terms
Assist in contract negotiations as part of the core negotiating team
Develop and manage financial reporting essential to successful commercialization of business
Financial Modeling
Responsible for the key underwriting of large deals where investments and cashflows are analyzed
Develop, explain, and report on key project financial metrics
Apply creative thinking to analyze complex financial problems
Utilize financial models (including enhancing established models and developing ad-hoc models) to drive business decisions
Leverage various systems (Salesforce.com, Oracle, pricing optimization software) to gather data and support the development of commercial market strategies
Qualifications & Experience
Education, Training & Professional Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Business Administration
MBA/CPA/CPP/CFA a plus
5-7 years of work experience in accounting, finance, economics, or related field
1-3 years managerial experience preferred
Strong experience of Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel
Experience in the Supply Chain, Warehousing, Distribution, or Operations industries
Experience with Oracle, Salesforce.com or other CRM tools preferred
Demonstrated skills in understanding large and complex proposals
Ability to identify issues and propose alternative solutions to mitigate risk
Ability to develop strong business relationships within all levels of the organization
Investigative/audit skill set
Financial underwriting experience is a plus
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to influence, negotiate and give formal presentations
Positive, competitive, confident personality with strongly developed persuasive skills and a customer focused orientation
