Volt is immediately hiring for a Conventional Machinist in Valencia, CA
As a Conventional Machinist, you will:
Set up and operate conventional vertical milling machines such as Bridgeport and Tree.
Set up and operate convention engine lathes such as Handinge and Yam.
Set up and operate surface grinders and drilling machines.
Set up and operate CNC Hardinge lathe HLV-H.
Design and make custom tooling needed for machine setups or to fabricate parts.
Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls.
Calculate requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans.
Work with Engineering and Production to optimize designs.
Adhere to production schedules.
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process and implement efficiencies when possible.
Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, quality and good housekeeping practices.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
3-5 years of machining experience, some CNC machining preferred.
Strong math, problem solving and analytical skills.
Time management skills and ability to work to deadlines.
Team focused and open to learning new skills.
Attention to detail.
Pay Rate:$22.00 - $24.00 per hour.
Duration: +6 Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift timing: 5:00am-2:30pm
