Our site in Aurora, IL is seeking a Nanoparticle Scientist to join our team. Entegris is a world-leading supplier for the semiconductor industry. We have accomplished this by having a world class, diverse, and creative Research and Development team that includes scientists from many different disciplines who collaborate within Entegris to develop leading edge technologies. To continue to grow as the industry grows, we are looking for a hardworking, innovative, Nanoparticle Scientist to join our team!
What You’ll Do:
Design, synthesize, and characterize new metal oxide nanoparticles cores, surface chemistry, and core-shell materials for aqueous based systems
Build an understanding of structure-activity relationships around particle properties, including bulk and surface, and final product application
Apply lab-based methods to screen additives, probe mechanism of action, and ensure product robustness using your expertise and statistically robust experimental designs
Analyze outcomes of experiments using advanced statistical tools and be able to use those results to logically plan future experiments
Create technical presentations to be shared within R&D, internal stakeholders, and suppliers
Collaborate in a diverse team that includes chemists, engineers, customers representatives, quality specialists, and production engineers
What We Seek:
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Material Science, or Nanoscience
Extensive experience synthesizing and characterizing nanoparticle materials
Demonstrated independence in successfully completing projects, either individually or within collaborations or research groups
Proven experience in planning, executing, and documenting a set of activities or tasks in a timely manner
Demonstrated effective communication, both written and verbally, within core research group and to an outside audience
Participation in safety initiatives and have a strong dedication to a safety-first culture
Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
Post-doctoral or industrial experience in designing, synthesizing, and characterizing metal oxide nanoparticles
Strong ability to design, execute, and analyze experiments that elucidate key function, mechanisms, or properties of nanoparticle (both bulk and surface properties)
Strong communication skills – able to easily communicate with peers, research associates, and non-technical collaborators both written and in presentation formats
Demonstrated collaboration with team members of different levels or career stages
