Our client in Woburn, Ma an insurance brokerage and consulting firm is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. .



Position Overview: As a Senior Accountant you will play a key role within the accounting team, collaborating closely with the CFO to oversee and execute the company's accounting and finance functions. You will be responsible for facilitating monthly close procedures, preparing financial statements, analyzing data to support financial goals, assisting in budget preparation, and contributing to various accounting tasks and projects.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Coordinate and complete monthly close procedures, including the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules according to established timelines.

  • Compile and analyze financial data to generate reports that assist leadership in achieving overall financial objectives.

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget by providing relevant financial insights and projections.

  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.

  • Support company reporting requirements and audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Serve as a backup to other accounting team members, assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other tasks as needed.

  • Collaborate with the CFO on special projects and initiatives aimed at improving workflow processes and efficiency.

  • Process bi-monthly payroll using ADP Workforce Now and compile revenue reports.

  • Generate monthly and quarterly invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Address ad hoc requests and projects from Executive Leadership with professionalism and efficiency.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in accounting or finance; advanced degree is a plus.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting/finance role, preferably within the insurance industry.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts.

  • Proficient understanding of accounting principles and practices, with the ability to analyze financial data effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to engage with stakeholders at various levels.

  • Demonstrated accountability for results and understanding of the financial implications of decisions.

  • Self-motivated individual capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision.

  • Familiarity with QuickBooks is preferred; advanced Excel skills are required.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

  • Experience processing payroll using ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
