Job Description:

We are seeking a Part-Time Buyer to join a manufacturing client in Fremont. The role will start out as a contract, but can eventually turn into a full-time role based on performance. The position will be approximately 30 hours per week. The position is 100% onsite.


Job Duties:


  • Ensure that all inventory items are at acceptable levels.

  • Review all inventory-related reports to determine critical stock requirements.

  • Add/delete/adjust current part numbers in data base as required.

  • Issue Purchase Orders as required; ensure duplicate orders have not been issued.

  • Ensure the accuracy/completeness of orders.

  • Adjust stock levels, Min/Max, as a result of sale, in-house usage, damaged or faulty units.

  • Ensure that product defects/returns are replaced and credited quickly with minimal time and cost.

  • Review RMAs and flip to orders after issuing work orders to the applicable departments.

  • Ensure receipt of goods is consistent with goods ordered; ensure AP is informed of irregularities.

  • Continually seek and interview qualified sources for products as required for Sales/Service.

  • Analyze product reports to determine most cost-effective procurement methods.

  • Assist Sales/Service by providing accurate information regarding the availability of products as required.

  • Maintain history of all Purchase Orders and ensure that deliveries are made in required time; take positive and rapid action on late deliveries.

  • Ancillary Team-related and company tasks as required.

Requirements:


  • Clear and precise communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Math skills to simple algebra or above.

  • FAX, PC/computer skills.

  • Attention to price/cost detail; profitability.

  • Attention to highest product quality at affordable cost.

  • Aggressive procurement skills; assertive yet cordial personality towards vendors.

  • Professional negotiating talent to attain highest quality products at the most favorable cost and delivery.

  • Analytical skill to determine trends in product usage and anticipate requirements.

  • Ability to interact smoothly with all other departments in solving product shortage-related needs and problems.
