Summary

The Saw Operator retrieves, inspects, and cuts product to customer supplied specifications.

Essential Duties

• Operates saw


• Inspects and cuts parts for shipment per Operator instructions


• Maintains records of productions and quality issues as specified


• Notifies supervisor of non-confirming product or problems with machine


• Communicates saw issues with the next saw operator


• Patches parts/scrap as needed


• Keeps saw and yard area clean and neat

Experience

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

Knowledge/Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend drawings and quantities


• Ability to write simple correspondence


• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations


• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's


• Ability to perform these operations using metric units


• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions


• Ability to deal with problems involving repairs, patching and overall working of the saw

Physical Demands

• This job involves the following physical demands:Walking, standing, bending, stretching, using hands and fingers to hold, grasp, push, and lift items


• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs


• Job responsibilities involve occasional use of cleaning chemicals and power tools

Compensation

• The hourly pay rate is $20/hr.
