Job Description:

Who We Are:


Our goal is to process the financial records in a timely and accurate manner. Cost Accounting is responsible for preparing the operating statements and internal unaudited financial statements on a periodic basis. In addition, to responding to inquiries about expense details and capital assets. By joining our team, you will receive $500 on your first paycheck minus applicable taxes.


Objectives of this Role:


  • Provide administrative support for the department, including meeting scheduling, calendar management and coordination of visitors.

  • Assist other administrative staff as required in team working environment, working with limited supervision. Function as administrative liaison between various Division/Institute and Department offices.

  • Maintain awareness and understanding of Cost Accounting operating policies, procedures, and processes as a resource to Department staff.

  • Assist with transaction review for determination of proper account coding.


Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:


  • Provide administrative support for the department, including meeting scheduling, calendar management and coordination of visitors.

  • Research and resolve discrepancies timely to include communication with SwRI employees, Purchasing Department and other Institute staff.

  • Assist with special projects or audit requests as requested that will impact business operations and process improvements.

  • Respond to Institute staff inquiries and research requests in a timely manner.

  • Must be detail oriented and organized.


Requirements:


  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Accounting, Secretarial, Clerical classes or continuing education are preferred

  • 6 years: Experience with personal computers with an ability to type and efficiently operate a 10-key. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advance skills in Excel.

  • 2 years: Knowledge of general business practices and procedures with an ability to maintain organization of assignments to meet tight deadlines.

  • 2 years: Must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment, diligence and attention to detail in the completion of assigned tasks and projects.

  • A valid/clear driver's license is required



Special Requirements:


Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
