Assistant Director for Club Sports and Student Organizations

Posting Summary:

Provide leadership and oversight to the student organizations recognized by the Student Government Association. Oversee compliance with Student Government Association (SGA), Risk Management, and UVM policies. Market and promote club sports events, student organization opportunities, and club events. Ensure clubs update governing agency requirements. Oversee supervision and development of club officers and club sports coaches including supervision of two full time program directors and oversight of temporary employees and volunteers. Develop and implement programming initiatives to support Hazing Awareness Month and sexual violence prevention and education. Assist in the development and implementation of student organization leadership development opportunities along with ActivitiesFest and WinterFest (student organization fairs). Demonstrate commitment to diversity, inclusion, and social justice by developing initiatives that improve climate and increase access to clubs by non-majority populations. Serve as an actively engaged campus partner and representative of Student Life.


Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):

Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field and two to four years of related experience required. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and positively motivate students required. Effective computer skills and demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse populations including students, students of color, faculty, administrators, staff, and community members required. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice, and inclusion required.


Desirable Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in conflict management, working with students, and experience with club sports, recreation, or student organizations in a high school or university setting desirable.


Anticipated Pay Range:

52,000-58,000/year
