(Contingent upon available funding): 15.00 - 16.88, Hourly Work Schedule: Typically, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: Job Summary:

Support patients andfaculty in the Department of Surgery. Check in and out of patients: ensuresdemographics, insurances, etc. are correct and complete. Collects copays andoutstanding balances. Prepare medical records/charts; obtain referring physicians'notes; process reports; and answer phones andback-up Medical Records.   



Environmental Hazards:

Possible exposure to hazardous material, hot and cold, blood borne pathogens.



Physical Requirements:

-High School Diploma/GED



Skills, Proficiencies, and Knowledge:

-Experience with computers and software (Microsoft Word, Excel,PowerPoint), data entry.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills,telephone protocol.
-Ability to schedule appointments and take accuratetelephone messages.
-Understanding of medical terminology.
-Work well underpressure.   



Preferred:

-Prior experience in a clinic setting
-Prior experience with Electronic Medical Records; EPIC highly desirable
