Job Summary:

The Division Order Analyst will set up and maintain all well records for our mineral and royalty interests to ensure accurate payment of royalty and bonus payments. This key role will analyze deeds, leases, contracts, unitization, and marketing arrangements. The role requires analytical skills and attention to detail to maintain Company ownership records on assets and wells, with effective communication to coordinate with third-party operators and internal accounting group to confirm interest factors and payment status.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Process division/transfer orders for minerals and non-operated interests, ensure receipt of necessary documents for new wells on Company minerals, and follow up as needed.
  • Maintain effective communications with operators to quickly reconcile interest discrepancies or assets held in suspense and ensure correct, timely revenue payments for Company interests.
  • Work closely with accounting to verify payments for Company interests comply with lease or agreement terms and state statutes. Identify punitive payments/penalties available to the Company.
  • Review pooling and unitization orders, title opinions, and chain title forward using county records.
  • Onboard acquisitions into Company systems in a timely manner. Prepare, file, and organize ownership/title documentation. Maintain accurate interest factors in internal systems. Work across departments to maintain data integrity.
  • Monitor new permits or wells on Company assets to identify operator obligations, first production, and first payment dates.
  • Assist the Land team in the interpretation of title documents, such as mineral/leasehold ownership reports, title opinions, assignments, operating agreements, deeds, leases, farmout agreements, and probate documents to determine ownership, identify provisions that affect royalty payments, and cure/resolve title issues.
  • Communicate with operators, working interest partners, royalty interest owners, and other partners or parties in response to division order inquiries, regarding payment issues, verification of well interests, interest calculations, to answer inquiries, and provide information.
  • Assist with audits and special projects to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Assist the Land department and company, performing other various projects or duties, as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Experience with division of interest deck creation, maintenance and updates; and experience with non-operated working interest division order review and reconciliation
  • Ability to accurately and independently calculate division of interest from title/regulatory documents
  • Online County/Federal/Official Public Records search experience
  • Knowledge of mineral estate legal documents and property transfer procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software applications
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently, managing multiple projects simultaneously

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Energy Management, Petroleum Land Management, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Five+ years of land administration experience, two+ years of division order experience
