Job Description:


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Bronx, NY.

Essential Functions:


  • Day to day management of UKG HRIS system, including reviewing current structure, implementing planned expansion, and evaluating ongoing system expansion

  • Payroll Specialist will process payroll weekly or biweekly for multi-companies out of multiple payroll systems

  • Building strong communication with fellow supervisors to ensure proper documentation of time keeping records

  • Maintains knowledge of compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and tax regulations, and recommends best practices; Reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance

  • Maintain accurate employee information in the payroll system related to demographics, schedules, wage garnishments, leave of absence and organizational structure

  • As a Payroll Specialist, you will generate payroll reporting information in areas including but not limited to payroll, time and attendance, demographics, applicant tracking, performance management, and turnover

  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for auditing purposes

  • Reconcile Payroll related invoices, including but not limited to Union dues, pension, welfare, etc.

  • Preform ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned







REQUIREMENTS:



  • Associate degree in Business, Accounting, or related field or equivalent experience

  • Experience in payroll processing and UKG platform

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment and tax laws and procedures

  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information

  • Strong PC skills and MS Office skills (intermediate to advance Excel skills required)

  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively to accomplish job duties in a timely manner

  • Ability to work independently

  • Experience with union environment a plus






The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.



We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
