ERM is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Consulting Associate Engineer/Geologist/Scientist with up to two years’ direct experience to join our growing team in Sacramento, California. Working under the direction of Project Managers and Partners, the successful candidate will primarily work on a remediation project in Sacramento for at least the first year. Opportunities to work on other interesting site investigation and remediation projects throughout Northern California and other US locations will be available over time. This will include the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, covering the full spectrum of ERM’s services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• BS in chemical, civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering; geology; environmental science or related degree.


• Ideal candidate will have up to 2 years of directly applicable environmental consulting or related professional experience, including willingness/interest in field assignments.


• Strong commitment to safety, including following established health and safety protocols.


• Previous O&M experience desired.


• Environmental field work experience and 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification desired.


• Valid driver’s license.


• Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed field notes, technical data, and reports a plus.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Detail-oriented with mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.


• Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.


• Local candidates preferred.

For the Consulting Associate Engineer/Geologist/Scientist position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $64,000 – $72,422 USD.  An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.  We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above.  This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.
