The University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) seeks a full time Lecturer for its Chemistry program. The successful candidate is expected to be able to teach Organic and General Chemistry courses, including corresponding labs, starting Fall 2024.
Duties:
Teach four classes per semester (Fall and Spring), at freshman and sophomore level, and any corresponding labs
Maintain assigned equipment (such as HPLC/MS, ICP/OES, GC/MS, etc.)
Participate on college, program and departmental committees
Maintain a productive research program with potential for student involvement
Execute other duties as assigned
Required:
Master's degree in Chemistry, or related field
Foundation and knowledge of principles used in both general and organic chemistry
Experimental skills in chemistry labs
Knowledge in techniques used to deliver lectures face-to-face and online
Trouble shooting skills regarding HPLC, GC, MS
Clear, precise, and effective written and oral communication skills
Preferred:
Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, or related field
Experience teaching at the college level
Experience managing high field NMR spectrometer
